About the project
Squarespell is an independent marketplace for website tools, including plugins, templates, extensions and courses. It helps people who build websites find the right resource for a specific job, and it lets tool creators put their work in front of an audience of website builders.
What the website does
- Lets visitors browse resources by platform and by type: plugins, templates, extensions and courses.
- Covers six website platforms, including Squarespace, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Wix, with live counts of what is available for each.
- Shows popular listings and current deals on the homepage.
- Publishes guides to help visitors make better website decisions.
- Explains how recommendations are checked and clearly marks affiliate listings.
- Offers a route for creators to sell their tools, and a newsletter sign-up.
How the site is structured
A marketplace has to help visitors narrow a very large catalogue. Squarespell does this with platform and product-type navigation, so a visitor can go from “I use Shopify” to a relevant plugin list in a few clicks. Each listing and guide is its own page, which gives search engines many focused pages to index.
Design and user experience
The homepage puts search and platform choice first, followed by popular products and deals. Trust is treated as a feature: the site explains how listings are checked and discloses affiliate relationships, so visitors can see how it works.
